One of Section V’s best basketball rivalries is set for tonight. Aquinas and Bishop Kearney, two of the best teams in the state tip off in a sold out gym at Aquinas.

This is the first of two matchups between these two teams and now that Aquinas has moved up to Class AA, they won’t meet in the sectionals.

The rivalry has become so popular that when the teams play for a second time in three weeks, the game will be at the Blue Cross Arena.

The Bishop Kearney Kings know about pressure. At least two players on the team have been on the radar of Division I recruiters all season--6’9” junior Chinonso Obokoh and freshman Thomas Bryant. So playing at Aquinas tonight in front of a packed house should be a breeze.

I'm excited! The whole team is excited and we'll play like it’s another game on the schedule,” said Bryant.

Aquinas is the top team in Section V for Class AA and Kearney is number one in Class A.
