The family of a Irondequoit woman whose car was found in the Genesee River is suing the Rochester Yacht Club.
85-year-old Bernice Ferenc drowned after driving her car into the river at the Yacht Club three years ago.
Her family is suing, saying there is no signage and nothing stopping a car from driving into the river.
Ferenc went missing in February 2009 and her car was found in May. She was last seen leaving the Wegmans at Ridge and Culver. The medical examiner ruled her death an accidental drowning.
The lawsuit filed by Ferenc's daughter is seeking damages.
