The West Irondequoit Central School District Community Education Department is offering a “Healthy You Markets Tour: Food, Herbs & Ancient Practices,” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, starting at Brighton High School.
Participants will discover amazing resources that are available to support you on your healthy lifestyle journey, including the healthiest foods and where to find them; the secret healing properties of Ancient Ayur-Veda and traditional Chinese herbs; how you can be a share holder in a grocery co-op, a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), and/or CSB (Community Supported Bakery).
Participants will also learn from a master how deep breathing is one of the easiest ways to improve the quality of your life, and practice healthy breathing exercises. Try a posture at a yoga studio.
You will sample foods at two health food markets, a CSB bakery and a vegan restaurant.
You may drive individually or car-pool from market to market. A map and directions will be provided.
