Irondequoit Police are investigating 3 business break-ins, with doors smashed | Crime
Irondequoit Police are investigating three separate business break-ins, early this week, that all involved the front doors to the stores being smashed in.
According to police reports:
- Officers responded to the area of Culver-Ridge Plaza, 2255 E. Ridge Road, Irondequoit, about 6:30 a.m. this past Sunday, Jan. 13, following a report from a resident on Forest Avenue that three suspicious males had just jumped his fence. The man’s back yard shares a fence line with the plaza.
While officers were checking the area, a burglary was reported at the AT&T store in the plaza. A door to the store was smashed. Nothing appeared to be missing from the store, but repairs to the door are estimated at $700.
- Only about two hours later, about 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 13), a passer-by noticed a smashed front door to the Sprint store in the 1300 block of East Ridge Road and notified police.
A boken cement block was found just outside the door. Officers found the inside of the store ransacked. Cash was stolen from a drawer and a safe, and items were stolen. An employee said he would provide a list of missing items to police.
- Officers also responded to a burglary alarm at a smoke shop in the 2300 block of Culver Road about 5:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14. Glass on the front door of the store was broken. About $150 and a $200 electronic cash register were stolen. Repairs are estimated at $200.
