Irondequoit man charged with rape, police believe there are more victims | Crime
A 24-year-old Irondequoit man has been arrested for rape, robbery and grand larceny.
Police say Michael Chess was first arrested on October 12 for first-degree rape and first-degree robbery stemming from an incident that happened on October 10 in Irondequoit.
Investigators say during the investigation, Chess was linked to a similar rape that had been reported on September 20, also in Irondequoit.
Police believe that there may be additional victims who have not yet reported being victimized by this subject. According to investigators, victims appear to have been targeted through the use of an online service and lured to residential areas in the vicinity of North Goodman Street, Norton Street and Culver Road. Police say once at the location, the victims were forcibly sexually assaulted by Chess.
Based upon additional information after the initial arrest of Chess, police say a similar incident had occurred to a third female victim.
Chess was arrested Monday on the additional rape charges stemming from another incident on October 10.
